I always find that on other Harry Potter RPG the students abuse their knowledge of the Harry Potter world and use as many spells and charms as they want.
I had the idea of using a Completed Spells and Charms list (kind of like the possessions threads, or the inventory threads) for each student. Once a student has learned a spell in class, that respective professor could reply to said student's CSAC list stating what spell or charm that student can now use freely, or atleast can use when performed correctly.
This could motivate students to actually want to attend classes, take extra course classes, and even go to the library to read up on spells (any spells learned in the library could be approved by the Librarian if we end up getting one).
Just a suggestion. Let me know what you think!

Yeah, it worked awesome at Applegates (a Hogwarts school I ran).
Anyone else have an opinion?

Seems like a great idea to me. People often tend to use spells they really shouldn't know at the age of their character. I suppose it could work with potions and such as well.

Definitely! Have a student spend a week studying Polyjuice in the library, have the librarian add Polyjuice to their CSAC...AP list, then they steal some ingredients from the Potions classroom and pose as Slytherins.

I think it would be perfect because I'm new and I know it confuses me because I "know" more than I know so once I get into it all I'll be so lost. Seems like an excellent way.
